Our friends at Insight Garden Program have just had their story told in a new video and it is a fascinating look at the program’s success. With narration from several former inmates who have used the skills they learned in the Insight Garden Program to achieve success, the viewer gets to see how the program makes the connection between gardening on the inside and responsible living once they return to the community.

As some of you, I've been working with Planting Justice—a community organization that provides affordable food to local communities while offering full-time, green jobs to formerly incarcerated individuals.In the past 5 years, Planting Justice has built nearly 400 edible gardens, taught food justice curriculum to thousands of Oakland youth, and helped 20 formerly incarcerated men transition from San Quentin State Prison into full-time, salaried positions.
