ACA Hosts “Green Aisle” For the First Time at 144th Congress of Correction

Barely three and a half years after forming the Clean and Green Committee, ACA has seen the interest in sustainable technology and products grow to such an extent exhibitors were given the opportunity to exhibit at this year’s 144th Congress of Correction.

Ten companies, including GreenPrisons, filled the “Green Aisle” with activity up and down the aisle throughout the conference.  All four of GreenPrisons sponsors were represented in one way or another with CorrectPac, Solar America Solutions and Big Hanna staffing their own exhibits in the aisle.

GreenPrisons used this conference to bring out our totally new booth designed by Indy Designs. The prominent display of the GreenPrisons logo and the large graphics of our sponsors were an immediate draw and pulled the casual exhibit hall stroller into a purposeful walk to see exactly what was down this new aisle.

The “Baby Hanna” display model made its debut at the Big Hanna exhibit booth allowing practitioners to see an actual scale model of the machine pictured in the display from the Noble Correctional Institution in Ohio. Eskil Eriksson the company representative was there to provide a guided tour of the machine that reduces 100 pounds of food waste to 10 pounds of high quality fertilizer in about 14 days. ACA has indicated that details will be forthcoming soon about expanding the “Green Aisle” in Long Beach in February. In the meantime if you are planning on exhibiting at the Winter Conference and would like to make sure that you make it to the “Green Aisle” contact Caitlin Mann at cmann@aca.org to reserve your spot now!
